(Pasadena, CA) The Mt. SAC Men's Basketball team started fast and never let up in a 58-40 South Coast Conference North victory over Pasadena City College Wednesday night.
With the win, the Mounties improved their record to 9-11 overall and 2-1 in conference.
Guards Corey Grant (8 of 10 FT, 4 assts., 2 steals) and Marc Howard Jr. (3 of 4 FT, 5 RB) had 15 and 14 points respectively for the Mounties.
Grant and Howard, Jr. led the Mounties with seven and eight points respectively in Mt. SAC's 33-point first half. PCC only managed seven baskets from the field and four free throws for 19 first-half points.
The Mounties were 11 of 14 at the charity stripe, brought down 47 rebounds and scored 24 points off 20 Lancers turnovers.
Forward Aaron Dutcher (3 steals, 2 blks.) and guard Josiah Yarde (9 RB) added eight and six points respectively for Mt. SAC.
Mt. SAC travels to Rio Hondo on Friday for a SCC North game. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
