SAN DIEGO, CA (2/14/2020) – Palomar faced San Diego City College and lost 88-81 in a game that went down to the wire. The Comets were down 42-41 at half. With a little more than three minutes to play in the game, the Comets trailed 75-71. After the Knights made back-to-back three-pointers, Zadok Wilson went down to score one himself. The last-minute of the game was a free throw battle with the Comets down 83-76. Wilson made a layup and then Michael Brandon went down to score a three-pointer for the final basket by the Comets.
Zadok Wilson finished the night with a career-high 32 points, six rebounds, one assist and one steal. He was 11-17 in the field and 6-9 at the charity stripe. Anthony Smith also finished in double-digits scoring 14 points to go along with five rebounds. In his return, Michael Brandon finished with 11 points, three assists, two steals and four rebounds.
The Comets are now 9-5 in conference play and 18-8 overall. They will be home on Wednesday, Feb. 19 against Imperial Valley College for sophomore night. Tip will be at 6 p.m.
