Rams suffer 93-73 loss at No. 19 Las Positas

LIVERMORE – The return to the court in the new year was a tough one for the Gavilan College men's basketball team.

Isaiah Hinds scored a team-high 18 points to lead the Rams in a 93-73 Coast Conference interdivision loss at No. 19 state-ranked Las Positas College on Friday.

That was followed by an 82-67 defeat at Monterey Peninsula College on Wednesday in both teams' Coast Conference South Division opener.

On Friday, the Rams battled at Las Positas but a 49-31 halftime deficit was too much to overcome. Fabian Reichstadt totaled 12 points and 8 rebounds while Cameron Saldana contributed 10 points off the bench.

With the MPC loss, the Rams dropped to 6-11 overall and 0-1 in the Coast Conference South. Gavilan is back in action next Wednesday (Jan. 17) when it hosts Foothill College in a 5 p.m. South Division game.
