The West Valley men's basketball team closed out the 2018 season with a 70-65 loss at Ohlone in the opening round of the CCCAA NorCal playoffs. The Vikings (15-14) and the Renegades (16-14) traded baskets throughout a tight second half, but West Valley missed six key free-throws near the end to seal their fate. Cristian Mejia's 18 first-half points brought the Vikings to within 35-31 at the break after falling behind 14-2 at the outset. Mejia finished with a game-high 25, and Delvon Nisby connected on three treys on his way to 14 points. Beattie Roggasch III also netted three three-pointers to finish the night with 11 points. Cameron Bradley paced the Renegades with 17 points. Ohlone advances to Saturday's second round at Yuba (23-5).
