Compton, Calif.- The Compton Tartars Men's Basketball play a passionate game for the Fall Scholar-Athletes in a nail biting 85-83 loss to the 25^th ranked Mt. Sac. Mounties.

Compton College athletic program celebrated and recognized their 45 scholar athletes for the Fall of 2021. These scholar athletes represent the excellence of Compton College Athletics. To celebrate the scholar athletes the men's basketball team played really hard throughout the course of the game had almost pulled off the upset against the 25^th ranked Mounties. Arvin Shirali led the attack for the Tartars as he scored 18 points and was a deep range three-point sniper as he connected on four for the game.

There were several lead changes throughout the second half the game. However, the Tartars would have challenges at the free throw line as they shot 46% and missed some opportunities to clinch the victory. The Tartars have shown consistent improvement throughout the season and will look to get back on the winning track in their next matchup.

The men's basketball team (8-11, 3-3) next game will be on the road Wednesday, February 9^th at 5:00 pm against the El Camino College Warriors (2-19, 0-6).
