After a road loss in their last game, the West LA College Men's Basketball team
took care of business Saturday afternoon, 89-79. Jeremy Robinson's pull up jumper put 
WEST ahead, 2-0. The Wildcats would never trail during the 40 minutes of play. With 2:41
remaining in the 1st half, Nick Williams lay up made it 39-30, West LA.
Jon Martens layup with 1:07 to go brought Valley with 3 points. However, my the time Kahri
White fed Derrick Williams at the horn, the Wildcats took at 45-36 into the locker room.

Christian McCoy's dunk and Jean Belzaire's long range 3 pointer with 15:59 remaining on the following 
possession extended the Wildcat lead to, 59-41. David Kellah connected from beyond the arc at
the 13:28 mark to extend the Wildcat lead to 18 points, 63-45. The teams would exchange baskets 
down the stretch, yet the game was never in doubt.

The Wildcat defense held LA Valley to 0 fast break points. Sophomore guard Kody Knox, was held to 1 of 10
shooting from behind the 3 point line. The 'Cats dominated the glass, outrebounding LA Valley 47-24,
including 19 offensive rebounds. 

Christian McCray (Oak Hill Academy), led WEST in scoring with 23 points. The freshman forward finished
9-15 from the floor, including 4-8 from 3 point land. Derrick Woods made the most of his 23 minutes of 
play finishing with 16 points. AJ Sims also finished with 10 points for WEST.

The Wildcats travel to Bakersfield on Wednesday night. Game time is 7pm.
