Men's Basketball gets by LA City to get their 6th straight win.
The Men's Basketball traveled to downtown Los Angeles to take on LA City College as their pre-season schedule begins to wind down. The Raiders went into the game with a 5 game win streak, having just won two at home, and extend it to 6 with a 74-72 win over the Cubs.
The first half opened with both team feeling each other out but the Raiders were able to seperate themselves and built an 11 point lead with just under 6 minutes left in the half. The Cubs didn't go away and went on a 17-6 run to tie the game 37-37 at the half.
The first 10 minutes of the second half turned into a back and forth exchange of baskets with the each team taking the lead only to relinquish it twice. Once again the Raiders were able to seperate themselves taking a 6 point lead with just under 9 minutes left. From that point on, the Raiders never trailed and answered each Cub run to hold them off for the 74-72 win.
Isaiah Sherrard had a game high 24 points to lead the Raiders. He also grabbed 7 rebounds. Reese Widerburg had 16 points.
The Raiders improve to 8-5 on the year and will hit the road for the Pete Adelman Cross-over hosted by Mira Costa, Sunday 12/22 and Monday 12/23.
