Bulldogs Dominate Ohlone in AHC Holiday Classic Opener

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's basketball secured a 104-67 victory over Ohlone College on day one of the AHC Holiday Classic inside of the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium on Tuesday evening. | BOX SCORE

Both teams were tied at 30-30 with just under eight minutes remaining in the opening half after an early back-and-forth battle. The Bulldogs (8-6) rattled off a 26-6 run down the stretch and held an 18 point advantage at the intermission. AHC then cruised to victory with a strong 50-31 showing in the second half.

Inside play proved to be a dominating factor after AHC held a 61-28 advantage on the board and tallied 62 points in the lane. As a team, Hancock shot a red-hot 54 percent from the field while limiting the Renegades (2-9) to just 32 percent. Matt Solomon led the way offensively with 25 points and seven three-pointers while Amari Stroud and Shawn Kelly each posted double-doubles. Stroud closed the contest with a stat-stuffing performance that featured 19 points, 11 rebounds, 4 steals, 4 assists, and three blocks. Kelly tacked on 12 points and 11 rebounds while Noah Halaand rounded out the top scorers with 17 points.
