(Irvine, CA) In a non-conference matchup on Friday, host Irvine Valley College (7-3) handed Mt. San Antonio College (7-4) an 80-59 defeat.

Shaquil Bender led the Mounties with a game-high 26 points, while teammates Jamal Edmonson, Lowrance McClain, and Khalid Wilkins added seven points each in the losing effort.

As a team, Mt. SAC shot 33.9% from the field while the Lasers connected on 53.8% of their shots from the field. Irvine also outrebounded the Mounties, 43-27, and outscored them in the paint, 48-26.

Mt. SAC begins its South Coast Conference schedule with a crossover matchup at South Division rival Long Beach City College (6-6) on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m.
