While Glendale College's 81-65 win over Grossmont College Saturday in the Mt. San Antonio College Crossover event counts as a victory in the win column, it was so much more for the Vaqueros. It was possibly the team's most complete effort of the season that snapped a three-game losing streak and evened up their season record at 3-3.

"We did a really good job moving the ball on offense. We had 21 assists on our 28 field goals made,'' said head coach Vigen Jilizian. "The guys played unselfishly and found each other for open shot opportunities.''

The spark GCC was looking for came in the form of good shooting, 45.9 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from the three-point line, knocking down 14 of 38 shots. Glendale led 33-25 at the half and helped its own cause greatly by turning the ball over just 12 times.

Julian Dixon led GCC in scoring with 21 points, hitting six three pointers and seven of 11 from the field. Brookline Sharpe added 14 points, four rebounds and three assists and Julian DeJesus and Alex Ramos added nine points each, with all of the points from Ramos coming on three of six three-pointers off the bench.

Glendale competes in the Pasadena City College Tournament Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 18-20 and face L.A. Pierce College Thursday at 5 pm.
