Heading into the big rival game the MiraCosta men's basketball team was riding high on momentum.  Having won five of their last six games the Spartans were starting to peak and it appears, just in time.  After a competitive forty minutes of play MiraCosta prevailed by a final score of 61-56, improving their record to 14-9 and moving them into third place in conference.

MiraCosta received balanced scoring from Lamont Couch Jr (14), Marcus Foster (13) and Dirk Helaire II (13). Helaire II also added an impressive 10 rebounds and five steals, clearly making his mark on the important game.

The Spartans play next on Wednesday February 5th at home against the conference leading Southwestern College Jaguars.  Tip off is set for 7PM.
