Johnson, Phillips double-doubles lead No. 18 Hawks to win at Cañada

REDWOOD CITY – Jordahn Johnson put up 30 points and 11 rebounds while teammate Jaden Phillips nearly matched him with 30 points and 10 rebounds to help lead No. 18 Las Positas College to a 100-87 win at Cañada College on Friday night in both teams' Coast Conference North Division opener.

The Hawks actually trailed at halftime in the contest, down 43-41 at the break to the Colts. But LPC went on to outscore Cañada 59-44 over the final 20 minutes to pull out the victory.

Johnson added 4 blocks to his big game and Phillips sank 5 three-pointers on his way to a season-high scoring game.

 Jalen Patterson dished out a season-best 16 assists to go with 7 points. Isaiah Victor added 15 points and 5 assists and Evan Johnson totaled 10 points and 7 rebounds.

Las Positas won its third straight to improve to 11-4 overall and 1-0 in Coast Conference North Division play. The Hawks return to action on Monday (Jan. 9) when they host No. 2 City College of San Francisco in a 7 p.m. Coast North game. The contest was originally scheduled for this past Wednesday night, but was postponed due to the severe storms in the area.
