Men's Basketball Falls to Victor Valley

BAKERSFIELD, CA – The Bakersfield College men's basketball team fell short in their home matchup against Victor Valley, 76-70, at the Gil Bishop Sports Center. Despite a noble effort, the Renegades second-half rally fell short as the Rams held on for the win.

In the first half, Victor Valley built an early lead. Bakersfield stayed within striking distance, thanks to redshirt sophomore Isaiah Perry, who tallied 12 first-half points, including two three-pointers. At halftime, VVC led 41-38.

BC tightened its defense, holding Victor Valley to 34.4% shooting in the second half. However, the visitors capitalized on key offensive rebounds and free-throw shooting down the stretch. Bakersfield struggled from beyond the arc late in the game, finishing the second half at 27.3% from three-point range.

Leading the Renegades tonight was Perry who ended the game with 18 points, hitting 4-of-7 from three-point range. Teammate Ollie Fell added 16 points and 9 rebounds in a balanced performance while forward freshman Markell Brooks finished with 10 points and five rebounds off the bench.

BC outrebounded Victor Valley 42-41 and had 15 second-chance points but could not overcome turnovers and missed opportunities in transition.

The loss drops Bakersfield to 4-4 on the season. Up next, the Renegades will host Coalinga on December 4th at 5:00 pm. Live stream is available at gogades.com
