Jackson's Hot Hand Leads The Way For The Cacti

Barstow, CA - Copper Mountain College men's basketball team got back in the winner's column Thursday as they traveled away to take on Barstow college.

Despite this season being somewhat turbulent, thus far, the Fighting Cacti remain hopeful for the second half of conference play. If CMC can string together a winning streak a playoff birth is still very obtainable.

Thursday's Game would be a good starting point to kick off that much-needed streak of wins. CMC came out in the first half and handled the hosting Vikings. Sophomore Hyking Brisbon would have a thunderous Slam Dunk that ignited the Fighting Cacti run. Sharp shooting from Schnider Casseus and Tray Jackson would help propel Copper Mountain to the 42-27 halftime lead.

In the second half, Copper Mountain picked up right where they left off. Good defense and efficient offense was the key for CMC as they went on to win 83-66.

Tray Jackson Led CMC in scoring with 17 points.
Schnider Casseus netted 13 points in a solid performance. Zack Kroker had another double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Dillon Voyles and Marc Hall both rounded off the double-figure scorers with 10 points each.

CMC improves to 9-11 on the year and is set to play their biggest game of the season to date. Saturday 1/25/2020 Copper Mountain will host Mt. San Jacinto College tip-off 3pm.
