Compton, Calif. - Sophomore L'kielynn Taylor posted a near triple-double as the Compton men's basketball team (2-1) defeated Santa Monica (0-3), 91-84, in the Tartars' home opener on Thursday evening.
Taylor recorded a 18 point, 15 rebound, and nine assist outing, shooting 50 percent from the field. He added three steals to his effort.
Freshman Jaylen Million paced the offense with a team-high 22 points, while sophomore Kendall Smith and freshman Armon Cook also tallied double-figure points nights.
The Tartars have an extended break before heading to Grossmont for a Thanksgiving eve matchup at 5 p.m.
