SBVC Rides Quick Start to Rout of Desert

The San Bernardino Valley College men's basketball team came back home for the first time in more than two weeks and didn't waste any time getting back into the groove in their home gym.

The Wolverines scored the first 13 points of the game and rolled to a 118-80 victory over a short-handed College of the Desert squad in a game that was orginally scheduled for Jan. 5.

All five of the SBVC starters scored in double figures in the game, as the Wolverines shot 48.8 percent from the field. SBVC also hit on 20 of their 43 attempts (46.5 percent) from three-point range.

Armon Muldrew led the way for the Wolverines, draining 25 points on 9-of-12 shooting (7-of-8 from three-point range). Dominique Daniels had 24 points and nine assists, while Brandon Thompson had 21 points. Anthony Bell had 16 points and seven rebounds, while Tynerion Jackson had 10 points and nine rebounds.

Trailing by 38 at the half, COD was able to match the Wolverines point-for-point in the second half, as both teams scored 50 points. Marquis McKinzy led all scorers with 28 points, while Abraham Bell added 20 for the Roadrunners.
