COD Men’s Basketball rolls past Arabs for 1st win, 80-52

COD (1-9) had four of its five starters in double figures as the Roadrunners grabbed their first win of the 2022-23 season, rolling up the Imperial Valley Arabs (0-10), 80-52.

Freshman starting forward Christopher Dodge (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) led all scorers with 20 points on 8 of 11 shooting, including a 4 for 4 night from the free throw line. He also led the team with 4 blocks and was the co-leader with 6 total rebounds. Sophomore starting center Garrett Hayden (Palm Desert H.S.) had 13 points on 6 of 8 shooting from the field and was the co-leader in boards with 6. Freshman starting guard Isaiah Goad (Palm Springs H.S.) had 12 points, going 5 of 10 from the field, including shooting 2 of 5 from three-point range in the win. Freshman starting guard Deandre Sanders (Palm Desert H.S.) had 10 points on 3 of 7 shooting, going 4 of 5 from the charity stripe and leading the team with 8 assists. Freshman starting forward Rickey Adam Bell (Twentynine Palms H.S.) led the team with 2 steals and went 2 of 4 from three-point range.
