STOCKTON – No. 3 state-ranked City College of San Francisco picked up three more wins over the weekend to extend its winning streak to seven and capture the Tristan Hill Holiday Tournament championship at San Joaquin Delta College.
The Rams opened the three-day event on Thursday with a 91-47 rout over Sierra College, edged Butte College 81-77 in Friday's semifinals, and cruised to an 87-77 victory over Contra Costa College in the championship final on Saturday to close it out.
Naseem Gaskin was named MVP while Seyi Reiley was selected to the all-tournament team.
Gaskin put together another impressive weekend as he averaged 21 points over the three games. On Friday, he had 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals against Butte and backed that up with a double-double on Friday against Contra Costa with 22 points and 15 rebounds. He added 5 steals and 3 blocks.
Reiley had a solid game in the tournament final, posting 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists to help lead the Rams to the win.
CCSF improved to 11-1 overall this season and returns to action on Wednesday (Dec. 22) when the Rams travel to College of Alameda for a 5 p.m. non-conference game.
