In an exhilarating finish, the Los Angeles Pierce College men's basketball team secured a thrilling victory over Allan Hancock 62-60 with a last-second shot. It was the first conference game for the Brahmas as they knocked off the conference-leading Bulldogs. Sophomore Jule Sims stepped up under pressure, sinking the game-winning bucket as time expired to lead the team to a hard-fought win. Sims had a dominant performance with 23 points, nine rebounds and two assists. In a wild game, the teams traded buckets all night with 11 ties and six lead changes. Pierce was up two points in the closing seconds of regulation, but AHC managed to get a game-tying layup. The same scenario occurred in the first overtime period, and in the dying moments of the second overtime period after another Bulldogs layup, Sims was able to send the crowd home.
