The City College of San Francisco men's basketball team cruised to a 89-72 win over the Foothill College Owls (2-1 Coast-North/13-6 Overall) last night at CCSF.

The win pushes their win streak to 14 games and improves the Rams' overall record to 18-1 and conference record to 2-0.

The tone of the game was set early in the first half by the Rams with their frenetic press defense and efficient offensive attack. The Rams' unrelenting press did not allow the Owls to get into any rhythm on offense, and most of their shots were contested by a Rams' defender. After every missed Foothill shot, the Rams pushed the ball up the court for a quick basket in transition or they setup their ball-moving, half-court offense. The Rams held a commanding 45-24 lead by the end of the first half.

Although Foothill outscored CCSF 48-44 in the second half, the Rams never relinquished their insurmountable lead.

The Rams' defense held the Owls to 25-of-62 shooting (40.3 percent) and forced 15 turnovers. Leading the defense was guard Eddie Stansberry, who finished the game with three steals and one block.

CCSF's offense was particularly good on Wednesday night, shooting 31-of-67 (46.3 percent) and connecting on 14-of-33 three-point attempts (42.4 percent). Guard Terrell Brown scored a team-high 24 points, and shot 6-of-8 from beyond the arc. Forwards Michael Wright and Lewis Hayes tied for second with 14 points. Guard Dexter Hood posted a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) on the night.

CCSF will host unbeaten conference opponent Canada College (3-0 Coast-North/11-8 overall) this Friday at 7 p.m.
