The CCCMBCA Regional Preseason Poll ranked Citrus College No. 3 in the SoCal region while College of the Sequoias ranked No. 3 in the NorCal region. The two teams battled Friday night, resulting in a narrow 84-79 win for the Owls.

Citrus College improves to 6-1 on the season while College of the Sequoias suffers their first loss of the season to go 6-1.

In a game with eight ties and nine lead changes, the Owls and Giants went back and forth in an exciting game that had a postseason feel although it was in November.

The Giants held leads for most of the first half although the Owls were in striking distance, keeping the game close with timely three-pointers and hounding defensive pressure.

Sequoias were able to build an 11-point lead midway through the second half, but Citrus clawed back going on a 9-0 run to get within two points. A Brady Cook three-pointer, and a Blake Ballard jump shot gave the Owls their first lead of the second half with six minutes remaining in the game. Citrus maintained their lead for the remainder of the game, knocking down clutch shots and making defensive stops to earn the win.

The Owls were led by KJ Perry who scored a game-high 19 points and added three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Tyler Isaak scored 16 points, hitting two three-pointers. Amiri Meadows scored 10 points with five assists and a game-high four steals. Pejan Slater led the game with 10 rebounds while Brady Cook and Luis Marin each chipped in nine points off the bench.

Citrus College will host East Los Angeles College next Wednesday, November 27th at 5 p.m.
