The Las Positas men's basketball team added to its program-record winning streak to open the season with a triumph over Folsom Lake.

The Hawks, ranked third in the CCCMBCA state poll, improved to 12-0 by upending the Falcons 94-77 at The Nest on Dec. 21. Sophomore guard Elijah Mobley, out of Weston Ranch High (Stockton), led the way with 30 points (9-11 field goals; 11-13 free throws), 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

Elijah Mobley has been a model of consistency, averaging 19.3 points, 4 rebounds and 3.3 assists a game. He is shooting 58.5 percent from the floor and providing leadership with fellow sophomore guard Sterling McClanahan (Vanden HS), who is averaging 12.4 points and 3.2 rebounds a game, shooting 81 percent from the free throw line. He had 11 points against Folsom Lake, and sophomore guard Jorren Edmonds (Washington High) and freshman forward Kentrell Kelly (Monterey Trail) both added 12 points. Edmonds filled up the stat sheet with six rebounds, eight assists, three steals and three blocks. Kelly powered down seven boards and was 6 for 7 from the floor.

Las Positas will complete its nonconference season with road tests at Solano on Dec. 30 and Monterey Peninsula on Jan. 3 before opening Coast-North play at home against College of San Mateo on Jan. 8 (7 p.m.) and away at No. 1 ranked CCSF on Jan. 10.
