The MSJC men's basketball team survived an outstanding shooting day by the visiting Barstow College Vikings on Saturday with an impressive offensive game of their own, as they picked up an Inland Empire Athletic Conference victory 114-98.

The Eagles were impressive sharing the ball all game long as they finished with 33 assists on 40 made baskets in the contest.  Josh Hardiman led the way for MSJC as five different players ended the game in double figures.  Hardiman had a game high 26 points off the bench.  Anton Mozga added 17 points and 9 rebounds, while Ethan Bell scored 16.  Danilo Da Silva had 14 points in the victory and Isaiah Skinner had 12.  The trio of Bell, Da Silva, and Skinner combined to knock down 12 three point baskets in the game.  Bell and Da Silva each passed out a game high 7 assists.  Mekhi Hill and Skinner both had 4 assists.

MSJC led 55-44 at the half and pushed the lead out to as much as 25 in the second half, but Barstow's big shooting day kept them in the game.  The Vikings shot an impressive 55% for the contest both overall from the field and from the three point line.  MSJC nearly matched them as they shot 48% from the floor and 41% from distance, the Eagles did out rebound the Vikings 41-33.

The win evened the Eagles's IEAC record at 1-1 as well as their overall mark for the season at 6-6.  MSJC will have a break now until after Christmas.  The Eagles return to the floor on December 30th for a home game against LA Southwest to wrap up their non-conference schedule.  They will get back into IEAC action on January 5th when they host Cerro Coso.  Game time December 30th is 6 pm.
