SBVC Moves On With Gritty Win

SBVC Moves On With Gritty Win

The San Bernardino Valley College men's basketball team won its CCCAA Southern California Regional Second Round game Thursday night 73-56 over Cypress College to advance to Saturday's regional final game.

But the Wolverines may have lost one of their offensive catalysts to injury.

Dominique Daniels, who was the Inland Empire Athletic Conference player of the year, went down with a leg injury with 2 minutes, 10 seconds remaining in the game. His status going forward is still unknown.

Daniels once again led the SBVC attack Thursday night, scoring a game-high 19 points, and helping the SBVC defense shut down the Chargers offense. SBVC held Cypress to only 32.7 percent shooting from the field in the game.

Center Chester Makoi had a big game in the post for SBVC, scoring 15 points and pulling down 14 rebounds, six of which came on the offensive end that led SBVC to hold a 40-16 scoring advantage in the paint.

Ramiah Adedigba led Cypress with 18 points.

SBVC will host Riverside City College at 7 p.m. Saturday night inside the SBVC Athletics Complex. The winner will advance to the state's Elite Eight next weekend at West Hills College in Leemore.
