The MSJC men's basketball team came up just short of a road win on New Year's Eve as they lost at San Diego Miramar 61-55.

The Eagles had to adjust their schedule as their home game scheduled with LA Southwest on December 30th was postponed.  MSJC traveled on short notice to San Diego to take on the Jets.  A slow start saw the Eagles fall behind in the first half by as much as 17 before they rallied back to close the gap to eight at the half 23-31.  MSJC continued to make a run as they scratched their way back to within one point by the midway point of the second.  The Eagles took a brief one point lead late in the game, but couldn't hang on as the Jets made crucial free throw down the stretch to complete the victory.

Cameron Durr came off the bench to lead the MSJC offense as he scored a team high 13 points in the game.  Anton Mozga and Josh Hardiman each had double doubles in the loss.  Mozga finished with 11 points and 10 boards while Hardiman had an even 10 and 10.  Isaiah Skinner finished the afternoon with 9 points for the Eagles.

MSJC is now 6-7 on the season and are set to return to conference action on Wednesday when they host Cerro Coso in a 7 pm game.
