
Oxnard College (9-4, 1-1) came out strong on the road Saturday night, defeating Santa Barbara City College (7-11, 0-2) in a decisive 78-56 victory. The Condors controlled the game from start to finish, with stellar performances from several key players propelling them.
Oxnard led by six at the half, 33-27, and continued their dominance in the second half, outscoring SBCC 45-29 to secure a comfortable 22-point win. The victory was fueled by an all-around team effort, with five Oxnard players scoring in double figures.
Theo Briscoe led the way for the Condors, delivering an outstanding performance with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 3-of-7 from beyond the arc.
Joining Briscoe in the spotlight were Jeremy Goodcase and Luke Ortiz, who each contributed key moments in the win. Goodcase finished with 13 points and 8 rebounds, while Ortiz added 12 points and 5 rebounds.
The Condors also benefitted from solid performances by Myles Allison (10 points, 4 assists), Daniel Ortiz (9 points, 5 rebounds), and Isaac Means (9 points). The Oxnard bench provided crucial support, including 4 points and 6 rebounds from Jacob Mora.
On the other side, Santa Barbara was led by Kyle Haughy, who scored 17 points, and William Pace, who contributed 12 points and 7 rebounds. However, the Vaqueros struggled with their shooting, finishing the game with a 39.7% field goal percentage and a dismal 9.1% from three-point range.
With the victory, Oxnard College improves to 9-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play, while Santa Barbara drops to 7-11 overall and 0-2 in the Western State Conference.
The Condors will look to continue their momentum as they prepare for their next WSC contest. Oxnard returns home for a matchup against Cuesta College on Saturday. The Women's game tips off at 1:00 and the Men will play from 3:00.
