Balanced offense leads Men's Basketball to SCC crossover win over Long Beach

(Long Beach, CA) Behind a balanced offensive attack, Mt. San Antonio College (8-4) defeated host Long Beach City College (7-7) by the score of 84-76 in a South Coast Conference crossover game on Wednesday.

Double-digit scorers for the Mounties included Shaquil Bender (16 points), Dyren Brown (15), Khalid Wilkins (15), Noah Laurie (12), and Justyn Hunter (10). Brown and Wilkins also grabbed 12 and 10 rebounds, respectively.

The Vikings' Kameron Mayhan led all players with 20 points.

As a team, Mt. SAC outplayed Long Beach in several key categories, including rebounding (41-18), points in the paint (46-26), and fastbreak points (12-8). The Mounties also connected on 60.3% of their shots from the field, while the Vikings shot 40.6%.

Mt. SAC travels to Compton College (5-5) for another SCC crossover contest on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 6 p.m.
