Bulldogs Win Twice at Annual Coach Carr Classic

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's basketball team picked up two wins while on the road at the three-day Coach Carr Classic event, hosted by San Jose City College, over the weekend. The Bulldogs now hold an overall record of 8-5 on the season with three non-conference games remaining before Western State Conference (North) play begins. 

Coach Aye's crew fell on opening day, 58-47, to the hosting Jaguars before topping Monterey Peninsula College (55-50) on Thursday and Hartnell College (93-43) on Friday. 

Ay-Keen Richardson led the program with 11.3 points per game average across the three-day event, followed by 7.7 points per game for both Owen Ubaldo and River Ortiz. Noah Morris led the effort inside with 7.3 rebounds per game, with 10 of his 22 total coming on the offensive end. Arlind Konjuhi tallied a team-best of eight steals (2.7/game) while Trenten Lavender dished out a a top mark of seven assists (2.3/game). 

The weekend road trip was the first this season in which the Bulldogs were at full strength on the bench. Jordan Kamga set a season-high during his weekend debut of 16 points in the win against the Panthers after going 7-for-8 from the field and performing perfectly at the free throw line. 

The Bulldogs will break for the holiday before resuming play at the end of the month at the annual AHC Holiday Classic. They will face-off against Shasta College on December 29th before matching up with Palo Verdo College on December 30th. Both games are set to begin at 3 PM inside of the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium.
