In a game that had seven lead changes including several in overtime, the GCC Men's Basketball Team broke a four-game losing streak by defeating Santa Monica City College 82-79 Feb. 9 in the Vaquero Gym. The Vaqs are now 4-5 in the WSC South and 10-13 overall.
Sophomore All-WSC South guard Tyson Jackson led Glendale with 29 points on 10 of 19 shots from the field and added five rebounds and two steals. Nigel Dickens had 16 points and seven rebounds, Jonathan Hakim had 11 points and Armen Darakchyan had 10 points off the bench and six rebounds. Noah Smith had a game high seven assists.
GCC will face West L.A. College Monday Feb. 10 at 7 pm in a game that was postponed in January and play at Bakersfield College Wednesday Feb. 12 at 7 pm.
