Warriors Overwhelmed by Santiago Canyon

TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College never led on Wednesday night as the team suffered its fifth consecutive loss in a 132-73 decision against Santiago Canyon Wednesday night ECC Gym Complex.

The Warriors (1-10) had five players score in double figures but the Hawks (12-0) trumped that with six players in double digits.

Jamal Howard led ECC with 17 points on 5-for-11 shooting with Jason Vasquez adding 14 points and seven rebounds. Jerald Mitchell added 12 with Darrian Williams-Youngblood and Chase Pitts each adding 10 in the loss.

Antoine Jenkins led all scorers with 38 points on a blistering 12-for-18 shooting night. He went 8-for-13 from 3-point range and eclipsed the 30-point mark by halftime.

Overall, the Hawks went 21-for-50 from distance, making more threes than the Warriors attempted on the night. The Warriors also turned the ball over 27 times on Wednesday night, leading to 37 points for the Hawks.

The Warriors return to action on Friday night as they host Palomar at the ECC Gym Complex. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
