No. 7 West LA opens Wild West Shootout with win over Barstow

Sophomore TJ Waldon came off the bench to score a game-high 18 points to help lead No. 7 state-ranked West Los Angeles College to a 109-74 victory over visiting Barstow Community College in its opening game of the three-day Wild West Shootout.

West LA has won three straight and improved to 6-1 overall. The Wildcats advance to the tournament semifinals and will face Compton College on Friday (Dec. 3) at 5 p.m.

Five Wildcats scored in double figures against the Vikings, with Waldon leading the way. He shot 6 of 7 from the field, including 4 three-pointers in limited time.

Gavin Davis and Justin Williams both scored 15 points each, Matthew Mayes added 12 points, and Dyllan Young chipped in with 10 points.
