Strong 2nd Half, Woods push WEST past Santa Ana
When Ronald Ellison scored with 1 second remaining in the 1st half, Santa Ana took a 43-40 lead into the locker room. It would prove to be Dons last lead of the day. WEST returned to the floor for the second half and it was clear the Wildcats meant business. Terrell Waiters knocled down a 3 pointer with 16 minutes remaining giving West LA a 51-47 lead.

Freshman forward Derrick Woods turned on the heat, scoring 12 of his game high 20 points to go along with 11 rebounds in the second half. Waiters along with Dwight Murray poured in 12 points a piece. Waiters also dished out a team high 7 assists. Julian Ross and Jacob Stone scored 11 each for the Wildcats in 21 and 20 minutes, respectively.

The Wildcats dominated the boards 52-37, 24 of those rebounds came in the second half.
Anthony Jones' troops shot 50 percent beyond the arc, with only 13 turnovers.

West LA improves to 6-3 and advances to the Semi Final game to face Compton College at 5:15pm. The Wildcats look to even the score with Compton, after a lopsided loss two weeks ago.
