Panther Treys Trip Up Vikings In Holiday Classic Opener

West Valley vs Sacramento City

Three-point field goals were the special of the day in the West Valley basketball team's game against Sacramento City Friday night in Saratoga. Unfortunately for the Vikings, the Panthers canned 11 from beyond the arc on their way to an 87-71 win in game two of the 2018 West Valley Holiday Classic. WVC's Robert Noland hit a trey at the buzzer to tie it at 35-35 at the half, but the Panthers (8-3), behind six second-half threes from Greg Milton, outscored the Vikings 52-36 after the break. Milton led all scorers with 37 points, 27 in the second half. Tyler Wright topped the Vikings (3-8) with 24 points, followed by Noland with 12. The Holiday Classic continues Saturday with Sac City taking on Cerro Coso (4-4), a 74-61 winner over Diablo Valley (4-4) Friday afternoon, at 3:00pm, and West Valley taking the court at 5:00pm against DVC in a battle of the Vikings.
