Men’s Basketball Closes Season Strong, Building Momentum for the Future

The Victor Valley College Men's Basketball team wrapped up the 2024-25 season on a high note, winning their final two games against Mt. San Jacinto and College of the Desert. The Rams' late-season surge, winning four of their last six contests, showcased the growth and resilience of the program under Head Coach William Funn in his second year at the helm.

This season marked a significant step forward for the Rams, as they improved their winning percentage by 15% from the 2023-24 campaign. The team's progress was fueled by the leadership of their sophomore core—Sheldon Grant, Jordan Malveaux, and Jordan Clayton—who all played pivotal roles in the Rams' success.

• Jordan Malveaux led the team in scoring, averaging 15.2 points per game, consistently delivering clutch performances down the stretch.

• Jordan Clayton dominated the boards, finishing as the team's leading rebounder with 8.2 rebounds per game while also providing a strong offensive presence.

• Sheldon Grant orchestrated the offense, leading the Rams in assists with 4.3 per game, while also being a reliable scoring option.

As these three sophomores close out their Rams careers, Coach Funn is eager to build on the foundation they helped establish. With a promising group of freshmen ready to take the next step, the future looks bright for Victor Valley College basketball.

"This season was a big step forward for us," Coach Funn said. "We're building something special, and with the momentum we've gained, I'm excited to see what this next group can do."

The Rams' late-season success and overall improvement signal a program on the rise. With Coach Funn's leadership and a new wave of talent incoming, Victor Valley College is poised to take another leap forward in the 2025-26 season.
