Bakersfield Secures 84-73 Victory Over Antelope Valley in Dominant Second Half

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College men's basketball delivered an impressive performance at home, outlasting the Antelope Valley College Marauders with a decisive 84-73 win at the Gil Bishop Sports Center. The Renegades dominant rebounding, balanced scoring, and clutch second-chance points to earn the hard-fought victory.

In the first half, Bakersfield started the game with solid defensive pressure but struggled to find consistency on offense early on. Despite shooting just 38.7% in the first half, they managed to take a narrow 35-34 lead into the break, powered by sophomore Lendl Henderson's efficient shooting and aggressive play in the paint.

The Renegades came out firing in the second half, shooting at 56.3% from the field. BC out-rebounded the Marauders 50-29, including 20 offensive boards. Forward's Ollie Fell and Markell Brooks were instrumental, combining for 19 rebounds and adding key contributions on both ends of the floor.

Henderson continued his stellar night, finishing with 17 points, while freshman Godwill Fomusoh added 13 points and 9 rebounds. The Renegades' bench stepped up as well, providing 27 points, led by Fell's 12 and Leviticus Latu's 7.

With their first conference win under their belt, the Renegades will head out for a weekend road game. They return home on Wednesday to take on Citrus at 7:00pm and host LA Valley on Saturday for a 3:00pm showdown.
