MEN'S BASKETBALL: STARTING OFF STRONG

The No. 5 Hornets took on the El Camino Warriors on the road for their fourth game of the season Wednesday night. The defending state champs have done well defending their title so far, winning their first three games of the season, all by double digits.

The Warriors would take a very early lead against FC, going up 10-5 after a three-point shot by Jason Vasquez at 15:11. Then by 12:08 the Warriors had a 15-10 advantage.

Then, Fullerton would take over. With 8:43 left in the first half, the Hornets went up 22-17 after a three from Tawon Elston.

They did not take their foot off the gas after grabbing the lead, finishing off the first half by going on a 17-7 run and taking a 38-23 lead going into the locker room.

The second half would begin with a jump shot from Jacob Eyman, extending the FC lead to 40-23.

The largest lead of the game for the Hornets came with 6 minutes left in the second half as they stretched it all the way out to 25 points.

The Hornets would go on to win by a final score of 71-52, putting FC at 4-0 on the season and winning all of their games by double digits.

Fullerton shot at a 44% clip from behind the arc and scored 24 points off turnovers.

Tawon Elston had a successful game coming off of the bench with 21 points, converting 5 out of 10 three point attempts. He also added 6 assists and 3 steals.

Ronnie Stapp contributed 14 points, 3 steals and 4 rebounds of his own.

Omjae Smith had 12 points and 4 rebounds and Harrison Bonner provided 7 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.
