Renegades pick up pair of road wins, improve to 4-0 to begin season

LOS ALTOS HILLS – The Ohlone College men's basketball team continued its solid start to the 2024-25 season by earning a pair of victories on the road over the week.

A 99-93 win at Foothill College on Friday was preceded by a 99-83 triumph at College of Marin on Tuesday as the Renegades moved their overall record to 4-0.

"It's always tough to win on the road and our group put to the test with some rowdy crowds," said third-year Ohlone head coach Jordan Lee. "Our team put a huge emphasis on bringing our own energy with us and pouring it into the team and it led us to two wins against two very good programs."

Freshman Anthony Lacy put together an impressive two-game stretch for the Renegades. On Tuesday, he posted a big double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds against Marin. And in Friday's win over Foothill, he was just shy of his second double-double with 14 points and 9 boards.

Other standouts from the Marin game included Gabriel Lopez (11 points, 11 rebounds), Michael Fastion (13 points, 9 rebounds, 4 blocks), Omar Babikir (6 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds), and Amos Hodgson (10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals).

Hodgson led Ohlone with 19 points to go with 8 rebounds and 2 steals in the win at Foothill while Lopez added another double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Standouts from the Friday's contest against Foothill included Babikir (8 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds), Wesley Burns (15 points, 8 rebounds), and Sam Manzo (9 points, 2 steals).

Up next for the Renegades is a Coast Conference interdivision game at home on Wednesday (Nov. 13) against Monterey Peninsula College. That game is set for a 7 p.m. start.
