On Friday, the Cerritos College men's basketball team extended their winning streak to six games in a row after a 91-84 win at Pasadena City College. The South Coast Conference crossover game was the last one for the Falcons (11-7), who will begin SCC South Division play on Wednesday in a 7:00 p.m. game at Los Angeles Harbor College.

The game opened with Cerritos scoring the first 10 points and were leading, 18-3 with 11:56 left in the first half. Aiding the team in their quick start was freshman Jaishon Forte (Rancho Verde HS), who had 11 points and 10 rebounds through the first half.

However, the Lancers (9-11) went on their own run and took their first lead of the game, 37-35 on a three-pointer by Rasheet Wilson late in the first half. Forte would tie the game 39-39 on a layup and added a three-pointer with :15 seconds left in the half to give Cerritos a 44-39 lead at intermission.

With the game tied, 46-46, sophomore Jalen Washington (Bishop Montgomery HS) gave the Falcons the lead for good with 16:05 left in the game. That led to a 15-2 run over the next five minutes to make it a 61-48 advantage. The lead would swell to 81-65 with 4:10 left in the game, with the Lancers making one last run. They drew to within 87-83, but the Falcons were able to close out the game.

Just as Forte (19 points, 12 rebounds) paced the team in the first half, it was sophomore Jacob Washington (Washington Prep HS/Los Angeles Harbor College) who led the way in the second half, as he scored 11 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in the final 20 minutes. Sophomore Jeremiah Galang (Narbonne HS) had a balanced game and would go on to lead the team with a season-high 22 points, which included five three-pointers. Jacob Washington concluded with 17 points and 17 rebounds, while sophomore Jahlen Jack (Centennial, GA HS) adding nine points and five rebounds. Freshman Cerroy Chenault (Warren HS) came off the bench to contribute seven points, four rebounds and four assists.
