Owls Grab Their 10th Win of the Season

The Citrus College Men's Basketball team defeated Fresno City College last night 94-77 to earn their tenth win of the season. 

Citrus College goes to 10-2 overall on the season while Fresno City College moves to 5-7 on the season. 

The visiting Rams made it tough for the Owls in the first half as they held the lead for the first eight minutes of the game before a Ryan Raad three-pointer gave the Owls an 18-15 lead. After the Rams tied up the game with a three-pointer, the Owls answered with a Luis Marin three-pointer and never trailed again in the game. 

Citrus opened the second half with a 7-0 run to earn a 10-point lead. Blake Ballard and Amari Meadows initiated the offensive attack as they extended their lead to 24 points late in the second half. Citrus held Fresno City to 40.3% from the field while outrebounding the Rams 50-42. The Owls' bench outscored the Rams bench 39-24 to secure the win. 

Citrus College was led in scoring by Blake Ballard who went 8-for-11 from the field with 19 points. Amiri Meadows chipped in 14 points while leading the Owls in assists with seven and in steals with three. Tyler Isaak scored 10 points while grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out three assists. The Owls got great production off the bench, led by Ryan Raad's 11 points, hitting a game-high three three-pointers. Brady Cook and Luis Marin each had eight points off the bench while defensive specialist Brandon Suber came off the bench to grab nine rebounds, score four points and dish out two assists. 

The Owls will travel to Long Beach City College this Friday, December 20th for their final game before the holidays as they face the Vikings at 6 p.m.
