Reedley College did what was expected of them on the basketball court. The Tiger men won their first two conference games at home. But things will get a lot tougher for Reedley in the upcoming days.

Coach T.J. Jennings' Tigers improved to 11-5 overall and 2-0 overall with a 91-73victory Saturday over the winless West Hills College Falcons. Reedley opened conference action three nights earlier with a 74-70 win over the West Hills Lemoore Golden Eagles.

The Tigers start the first conference road trip by heading to Sonora Jan. 15 to take on the Columbia College Claim Jumpers. Columbia came into undefeated and ranked fourth in the state before suffering a 10-point loss to Fresno City College.

On Saturday, Jan. 18, Reedley heads to Visalia for a 5 pm matchup with eighth-ranked College of the Sequoias. COS also faced Fresno last Saturday night, On Wednesday, Jan. 22, the Tigers travel to Merced before returning home to face Fresno City College on Saturday, Jan. 22.

Against West Hills Coalinga, all eight Tigers that saw action had scored in the first 12 minutes and six of them made 3-pointers. Reedley never trailed and scored 15 of the game's first 20 points.

The Falcons scored six straight points to 10 points before a Braxton Hicks steal got the lead back to 60-48. Within a span of a minute in the second half, Hassan Bolden hit a 3-pointer and had a windmill slam dunk to increase the Tiger lead to 69-53.

Four Tigers scored in double figures, led by Hassan Bolden with 24 points. Uriah Carter (4 3-pointers) was next with 20, followed by Anthony Martinez with 11 (3 3-pointers) and Richard Corona with 10.

Reedley came back from a 40-34 halftime deficit to defeat West Hills Lemoore 74-70. Uriah Carter led the Tigers with 26 points and six steals. Hassan Bolden was next with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
