HORNETS RIP PAST WOLVERINES

HORNETS RIP PAST WOLVERINES

The No. 5 FC men's basketball squad welcomed No. 23 San Bernardino Valley to the Hornets Nest on Wednesday night and brought down the Wolverines 76-52.

The Hornets got revenge on the only team to beat them during last year's championship season. The win bumps FC to an overall record of 6-2, while the Wolverines go to 3-5 on the young 2023-24 season.

FC fell behind early in this non-conference match-up 6-1 but quickly turned the game around taking a 14-11 lead in the 14th minute on a three-pointer by Jeremiah Davis. With the Hornets holding a 20-18 lead with 10 minutes left in the half, the Hornets caught on fire with an impressive 25-6 run that was led by Christian Watson's 14 points. Fullerton held a comfortable 45-24 lead by the halftime break.

The Hornets kept the pressure on San Bernardino Valley in the second half grabbing their largest lead of 30 that was set off by a three-point shot by Addy G'bye by the 10 minute mark. Solid defense by Fullerton kept the Wolverines at bay shooting 35.2% from the floor as the Hornets walked away with the victory.

Christian Watson had a good night leading all scorers with 18 points. He also added 5 assists, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds. Addy G'Bye delivered with 12 points, Jaden Byers scored 11, and Amound Anderson II put up 9. Andrew Pipersburgh played an important role under the basket with a game-high 12 rebounds.
