Men's Basketball Wins Nail-Biter over Feather River, 83-81

Oroville, Calif. - The Butte men's basketball team held on to win an 83-81 nail-biter over Feather River on Saturday afternoon. The Roadrunners have won four straight.

Sophomores Ozzy Meadows and Isaac Wood led the Roadrunners with 21 points apiece. Meadows nearly tallied a double-double with nine rebounds, adding a pair of assists. Sophomore Rolontae Knowles backed them up with a 19-point effort with seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

The Roadrunners overcame a five-point halftime deficit with the teams going toe-to-toe in the final minutes. Sophomore Marvin Lee hit a big jumper with just over a minute remaining to give Butte the 80-79 edge before the Golden Eagles capitalized on a goaltending call to regain the lead with 18.2 seconds remaining. But Isaac Wood drove the lane for the second-straight game to earn the and one and score the go-ahead points despite a pair of opportunities for Feather River to tie the game as the clock ran out.

Butte (12-11, 4-2) remain home hosting Siskiyous next on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m.
