Ramiah Adedigba Takes Over And Leads Chargers To Comeback Win, 86-84

CYPRESS, CA- The Cypress men's basketball team (4-3) defeated the Long Beach Vikings (1-4) in a come-from-behind victory on their home floor Wednesday night, 86-84.

The Chargers were led in scoring by Ramiah Adedigba with 20 points and Felix Reeves with 16 points. Trent Goldman finished the game with a double-double, notching 10 points and 11 rebounds. Tommie Flanagan came off the bench to put up 15 points and four steals.

Long Beach and Cypress traded baskets early, both taking their time to settle in and find a rhythm. It was the Vikings who jumped out to an early lead of 18-13 but the Chargers were quick to respond behind a couple of free throws and a mid-range jumper from Tommie Flanagan. Late in the first half, Long Beach went on a 10-1 run to go up by 8 with two minutes remaining, going on to finish the half up 40-34.

The Vikings continued their momentum into the second half, catching fire from the three point line, increasing their lead to 12 with 13 minutes left in the half. Though the Chargers were able to pull it within ten, the hot shooting from Long Beach kept Cypress out of it. With nine minutes remaining in the half, Head Coach Drew Alhadeff called a timeout as the Chargers trailed by 18, the largest deficit of the game. At the five minute mark, Cypress had managed to cut the Vikings lead to 10 points giving the Chargers momentum. Ramiah Adedigba took over the game, dropping eight straight points and giving the Chargers a one point lead. Tommie Flanagan made a huge steal down the stretch to send the game into overtime, 75-75.

Cypress scored the first four points in overtime and two made free throws by Ramiah Adedigba gave the Chargers a five point lead with two and a half minutes remaining, 81-76. A couple of clutch offensive rebounds from Trent Goldman removed any doubt as Cypress went on to win, 86-64.

UP NEXT: The Chargers return from Thanksgiving break to hit the road for the Monterey Bay Classic. Their first matchup will be against Diablo Valley at 7PM on Thursday, December 2nd.
