Spartans Break Century Mark In Win Against Compton College

In their second game in the 2021 Clete Adelman Classic the MiraCosta College men's basketball team cruised to a 110-67 victory over Compton College. Both teams were short-handed in the game, the Spartans with eight healthy players available to play and Compton with just seven. All eight active MiraCosta players scored double digit points in the game.

Leading the way in the scroring column were Jonathan Tchengang and Julian Williams, both with 17. Lamont Couch Jr. added 14 points and 10 assists, recording a double-double. Sophomore Carter Plousha finished two assists shy of a triple double, with 12 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. 

MiraCosta College dominated the glass, outrebounding their opponents by 21, 46-25.  Offensively the Spartans were very efficient, shooting 55% from the floor,  48% from the three point line and 83% from the freethrow line.  Williams made a total of four three point shots and sophomore Patrick McLachlan and freshman Jordan Campbell both made three.

The Spartans are next in action on Friday, January 14th when they resume their conference schedule against Miramar College at home.  Tip off is set for 7PM.
