Compton, Calif. - Sophomore L'kielynn Taylor scored a game-high 28 points with nine boards, but the men's basketball team (2-8) fell 75-70 to Glendale (5-6) in the teams' Compton Tartar Classic opener on Monday evening.
Taylor shot 50 percent from the field (11-22) adding 6-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc with a game-high tying five steals.
Freshman Derrius Ennis added 12 points, while sophomore Chris Townsell counted 10.
The Tartars will face West LA next on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. The winner will play for the Consolation Championship on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and staff with valid ID, $3 for students with valid ID, and free for students with ASB Sticker and children 12 and under.
