Balanced Scoring Attack Leads Tartars to a Hot Start

Compton, Calif.- The Compton Tartars Men's Basketball team played with great poise as they beat the Grossmont College Griffins to a score of 72-54.

The Tartars utilized great ball movement and team play to keep the Griffins defense off balance. The Tartars offense was efficient as they had a team field goal percentage of 58% and 50% on 3-point field goals. Arvin Shirali had a team-high of four 3-pointers and made one right before the buzzer to end the first half.

A strong defensive effort from the Tartars was displayed as they all hustled for loose balls and defended the 3-point line well. The team held the Griffins to a total of only four 3-pointers as they shot 23% from the beyond the arch.

The men's basketball team (2-0) will next be on the road for the Alvin Hunter Classic Tournament at San Bernardino Valley College. Their next game will be against Santa Monica College on Friday, November 12th at 3:00 pm.
