Citrus College Men's Basketball traveled to College of the Canyons on Saturday, February 8th to pick up a 109-71 win, their 10th conference win of the season.
The Owls picked up where they left off, earning their 16th consecutive win in dominant fashion, scoring over 100 points for the ninth straight game. Citrus shot 58.6% from the field and hit 5-of-10 three-pointers in the first half while holding Canyons to 32% from the field and forcing 13 turnovers to take a 49-26 lead into halftime.
The Owls stayed efficient in the second half, going 18-of-34 from the field while drawing 17 fouls and going 20-of-24 (83.3%) from the free throw line.
Overall Citrus outscored Canyons in points off turnovers (39-17) and points in the paint (44-26) with the Owls' largest lead of 39 points coming midway through the second half.
JJ Mitchell led the Owls with 20 points, nine rebounds, six assists, three steals and one block. KJ Perry dropped 18 points with three steals, three rebounds and one assist. Tyler Isaak scored 16 points and added one assist and one rebound. Brandon Suber contributed 14 points, five rebounds, three steals and two assists off the bench while Brady Cook scored six points with seven rebounds and one assist off the bench.
Citrus College will return home, looking to get their second over Santa Monica College, this Wednesday, February 12th at 7 p.m.
