Renegades Bounties the Pirates

Bakersfield, CA – The Bakersfield College men's basketball team took on the Porterville College Pirates on Thursday Night at Gil Bishop Sports Center. After losing two games in a row, the Renegades bounced back and defeated Porterville 75-71 and never trailing in the game.

Despite Porterville getting on the board first, BC came out of the gates and took a 14-4 lead in the first five minutes. The Pirates then went on a 13-3 run to tie the game at 17 points but that would be the closet Porterville would come to scratch at Bakersfield lead in the first half which ended 44-31.

Into the second half and the Gades continued to extend their lead over the Pirates. Porterville tried once more to come back in the second half but only got as close four points in the end due to BC's last point coming in the last four minutes of the game.

BC was led by Tyrell Coleman who tallied 19 points on 7-15 from the field and added 6 rebounds; Deandre Pemberton and Rahmel Davis both added 13 points and totaling 18 rebounds combined. As a team Bakersfield scored 32 points from their bench and 20 points from turnovers.

Next up, the Renegades will head out for the road to play at Oxnard College this weekend, (Dec. 4). They will return home on Thursday, December 16th.
