Knights Get 19th Straight Win Over IVC
The Knights took care of business at home on Friday as they routed Imperial Valley, 119-52, to extend their win streak to six. Anthony Howell recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists as the 11th-ranked Knights improved to 21-4 overall and 12-1 in the PCAC.
The Knights got off to a 17-4 start and kept pouring it on from there. They went ahead by 34 points at the end of the first half, which tied their largest halftime lead of the season, and it continued to balloon to as many as 70 late in the second half.
City shot 61.6% and made a season-high 14 3-pointers in what turned out to be their second largest win of the season. Their largest victory came on January 11 when the Knights defeated Imperial Valley, 105-37.
The last time the Knights lost to IVC was on Feb. 8, 2013.
Al Green scored in double figures for the 12th consecutive game with 12 points on 4-of-4 shooting, including 3-for-3 on 3-pointers.
Benjamin Todd had his biggest output of the season with 17 points and eight rebounds off the bench. Keavie Love tied a season-high with 14 points to go with five rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
Jaden Lebel and Lorenzo Wright each scored 10 points off the bench.
The Knights have a week off before their next game at No. 14 Miramar on Feb. 10 at 5 p.m. The winner of that game will take sole possession of first place in the PCAC with two games remaining in the race for the conference championship.
