SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Santa Barbara City College men's basketball team honored its sophomores before Saturday's game against No. 30 Allan Hancock, ultimately falling 80-68.

Before tip-off, families of the players joined them on the court for pregame photos with Nick Tjaden, Kyle Haughy, Will Pace, Sean Larimore, and Jose Suarez.

Once the game began, Santa Barbara fought against a hot-shooting Bulldogs squad that knocked down six 3-pointers in seven possessions, taking an 18-15 lead just five minutes in.

Both teams locked in defensively for the rest of the first half, with the Vaqueros trailing 41-36 at halftime.

In the second half, James Reach caught fire, scoring 12 points while playing 18 of the 20 minutes. However, Allan Hancock maintained its lead to close out the game.

Reach finished with 18 points, four rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Will Pace recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Nick Tjaden led the playmaking effort with nine assists.

Off the bench, Phoenix White provided an offensive spark with nine points, knocking down both of his attempts from beyond the arc.

Santa Barbara wraps up its season Friday at Cuesta College.
